Read & Listen
Our reading and listening guides explain audiobook and ebook services, compare subscription options, and help you decide which approach fits your habits. We look at questions such as what is included, how access works, and what happens when you cancel.

College Life
Our college-life guides cover dorm essentials, student subscriptions, and practical purchasing decisions. The goal is to help students and parents prepare without buying duplicates, overlooking school rules, or adding subscriptions they will rarely use.

Meet Charlie Brown
I’m Charlie Brown, the person behind Borlos. I live in Cleveland, Tennessee, and have more than 25 years of experience in industrial construction. My work involves planning, estimating, and comparing options—habits I bring to researching everyday purchases and services.
I’m also a parent of a college student. That makes the questions behind our College Life guides relevant to my own family: what to pack, what to share, which school requirements to check, and which recurring expenses make sense.
I created Borlos to bring useful information together in a straightforward way. I want readers to understand an option well enough to decide whether it fits their own situation.
How we approach our guides
A good recommendation needs context. A subscription can be worthwhile for a frequent listener and unnecessary for someone who rarely finishes an audiobook. A dorm appliance can be useful at one school and prohibited at another.
Our guides aim to:
- Explain the details that affect your choice. Prices, eligibility, included features, renewal terms, dimensions, and restrictions can matter more than a long list of benefits.
- Make the fit clear. We explain who an option may suit and when another approach could work better.
- Include useful alternatives. Free library borrowing, existing campus software, and products you already own deserve consideration.
- Distinguish research from experience. We do not describe something as personally tested unless hands-on experience supports that description.
Prices, offers, catalogs, and product specifications can change. Check the provider’s current terms and your school’s rules before subscribing or purchasing.
